Small Book Printing

This print style prints addresses in a small 2-sided address book made by cutting/folding.  Printing is done in two steps.  One side of all the pages are printed first, then printing is paused so those same pages can be re-inserted back into the printer for printing the other side.  Once both sides of the pages have been printed you cut the pages in half, stack them together, and fold.  The result is a compact, double-sided address book.  Details on each step are given here:

Step 1) Double Sided Printing:
When you print the small book, 2 passes are performed, so you can print both sides of each paper.  After the first side is printed a message box will be displayed, saying:

"Take the just printed papers and feed them back into your printer.

Feed the papers so the blank sides can now be printed.

Feed all papers back in the same order as just printed (the first paper printed should be fed into the printer first again). Depending on your printer, you may need to reverse the order of all the pages in order to feed them in the same order again.

Press 'OK' when you are ready to print the back sides of the booklet pages."

At this point you need to re-insert the just printed pages, back into your printer, so the other sides can be printed.  Make sure to insert the pages so that the blank side can now be printed.  Also, insert the pages, so that they are fed into the printer in the same order they came out.  The first page to come out of your printer during the first pass should be the first page to go into your printer on the second pass.  The second page that came out should be the second page to go in, etc...  Press OK once the papers have been re-inserted.

Step 2) Cut and Fold:
After the second printing pass you must now cut and fold your papers to make your book.  After the second side printing is complete you will see a message box saying:

"Stack all papers together with the first printed sides on top.

Looking at only the top-right of the 4 printed pages on each paper, you should see pages 1, 3, 5, etc... as you look at each paper in the stack.

Cut the stack of papers along the horizontal dotted line.

Place the stack of pages from the top half on top of the stack from the bottom.

Fold the stack along the vertical dashed line, so that page 1 is in front."

This message explains to take all the pages, and put them into a single stack.  The pages should either be in correct order already, or depending on how your printer outputs the pages you may need to reverse the order of all the pages.  Each piece of paper has 4 book pages on it.  Looking only at the upper/right page, the top piece of paper should have page number 1 in the upper right.  Again, looking at only the upper/right page, the second piece of paper should have page 3.  The third paper's upper/right should be page 5, etc...  Once all the papers are in a single stack, make a single cut along the horizontal dotted line.  This leaves 2 stacks of papers, one from the top half, and the other from the bottom half.  Take all the papers from the top half and place them on top of the stack of papers from the bottom.  Now, just fold the stack of papers in half, along the vertical dashed line.  Perform the fold so that page number 1 is in front.  Your booklet is now complete.  (You may wish to optionally staple the pages together by stapling along the vertical fold line.)
